Iwan Williams – Musical Director
Born and bred in the village of Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon, Iwan Wyn Williams began to show an interest in music at a very young age. He began his musical career in the company of Ilid Ann Jones, receiving piano and organ lessons. In 2009 he was awarded a scholarship to study a joint honours degree in welsh and music at Bangor University.
Iwan is one of the organists of St Padarn Church in Llanberis and Capel Pendref Bangor. He is also an enthusiastic member of numerous local choirs as an accompanist, bass singer and deputy conductor. Iwan has been involved in countless concerts, cymanfaoedd canu and eisteddfodau across Wales.
Iwan considers his position as the musical direcor of Hogiau’r Ddwylan an honour, and thoroughly enjoys the unforgettable experiences he has with them including prestigious concerts throughout the UK and an unforgettable trip to Chicago, USA.
In 2012 Iwan received a first class degree with honours from Bangor University. He continues to study at the university.
